Bin JIANG

Dr. Bin JIANG is an Associate Professor in Landscape Architecture at the University of Hong Kong. He has a Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and He was advised by Prof. William C. Sullivan. 

Dr. Jiang is an advocate of the ‘Healthy City & Healthy Landscape’ campaign. Trained as a landscape researcher and architect with a background in design, humanity, and environmental psychology, Dr. Jiang’s research interests include the impacts of built environments on human health and wellbeing, environmental justice and security, landscape empowerment of deprived communities, and contemporary landscape architecture.

Dr. Jiang is a Co-Chair of the Research and Methods Track in the Council of Educators in Landscape Architecture (CELA) in the USA. He is the founding director of the Virtual Reality Lab of Urban Environments and Human Health at HKU. He is a fellow of the China Society for Urban Studies and a consultant expert for many governmental and professional organizations. Dr. Jiang is serving for international and national-level journals as an editorial board member or international editor, including Landscape Research, Frontiers in Psychology (Environment Psychology), Landscape and Ecological Engineering, Landscape Architecture Frontiers, and Landscape Architecture (China).

Dr. Jiang also works as a landscape planner and designer. As a practitioner, he has worked closely with two important contemporary landscape architects: Dr. Kongjian Yu and Mr. Peter Walker. He had 15 years of continuous practice experience since 2005
